In The Yard

All of the images in this portfolio were captured on my house lot, all 1.5 acres of it. Some of the species can be found every year, and a few are one-time visitors, seen one year or a couple of years, then never again.

Seeing is Believing

While mostly true, occasionally the eye can be fooled. This appears to be an earthworm on some leaf litter. It is. But the worm is four feet long and 1-2 inches in diameter. Photographed in Sumaco, Ecuador.
